Good lord, this dude in my comments section is batshit. But this is a video version of a post I made before about slut shaming.

Seriously, shaming “sluts” for their “dangerous” behavior is the most counterproductive thing you can do. When someone feels ashamed for doing something that comes naturally to them, they are more prone to hiding it. They are afraid to talk to their parents or teachers for guidance. They’re afraid to go get tested for STDs, or if they do, they’re not going to give accurate information about their number or their practices. They’re not going to go pick up condoms because they won’t want the person at the counter judging them. If having an STD makes someone feel “dirty,” they’re not going to disclose that information to the people who need to know. They’re not going to report being sexually assaulted because they won’t want people knowing their sexual history. Removing the stigma of sex is the first step in creating a safer society with a healthy attitude. The danger and excitement of doing something “immoral” is part of the allure in and of itself.
Take away that shame and you have kids talking to their parents and being encouraged to take care of themselves and avoid unhealthy relationships. You have people talking to their partners about what they want and expect out of their sexual relationship and not being afraid to request they use condoms. You have people saying, yes, I have an STD, it happens even when you use protection, have sex with just one person, or are in a committed relationship, you have the option of deciding if you still want to sleep with me. You have people who don’t need to get drunk in order to have the guts to have sex, therefore they’re not making mistakes or getting so drunk that someone they didn’t want to be involved with takes advantage of them. You have healthier sexual encounters within committed relationships because you don’t feel like what you’re doing is wrong. The list goes on.
People like Onision are sex negative. They view sex as dirty and shameful. They view sex as something a man does to a woman, not something that two people share. They limit the way that they can interact with people based on old fashioned concepts of morality derived from religious oppression. They have no foresight or psychological/sociological understanding of what the result of this type of attitude has on the general public. They want control over other people, and the only way to flex that control is through judgment and humiliation. Be like I want you to be, do not be the person that you are.
Why do people who have many sex partners look back and say “It wasn’t worth it?” Because society has trained them to feel that shame. Society is telling them that they’re dirty, immoral, flawed. So no, ten years down the line when your partner is passing judgment on you for your former exploits, of course it doesn’t feel worth it. But if society’s opinions changed on the matter overall, you wouldn’t have that problem. You would look at it like, “I had fun while I was young and single, now I’m older and married and I have gotten that urge out of my system. I can settle down and share with my partner all the tricks that I’ve learned and be happy with them.”
Anyways, long story short, Onision is a simple little man with a simple little brain. If he did more than google himself all day he might understand more than just “Sluts is bad duhh.”

It’s been over a week since youtube partner Onision made an incredibly personal attack on his ex girlfriend public for his tens of thousands of youtube followers and fans to see. He then created a series of videos (mirrored) which only exacerbated the situation. In doing so, he also deeply offended thousands of people with his statement,
“And then she goes to insinuate that when we did make love that I was forcing her into it, that I was pressuring her into it and she didn’t really want to. That’s funny coming from someone who has slept with over 20 people.” - A Horrible Rebound (mirrored)
This statement cut deep for many viewers who have been the victim of rape, and not been believed because they’d had too many past sexual partners. One woman made a very brave and honest video in response, saying,
“You practically said that if you’ve been with over 20 people you can’t get raped. Greg, your personality reminds me of my rapist… You know what my rapist told me? After he raped me, he told me nobody would believe that he raped me because I’d been with over 20 people. You basically said the same thing my rapist said which is why I compare you to my rapist. You, in my eyes, are just as bad, if not worse than him. You’re showing kids that it’s impossible for a ‘slut’ to be raped. You know what Greg? I’m a ‘slut,’ and I got raped.” - Onision is Like My Rapist
She was just one of dozens of videos which expressed disgust at his statements. A petition, which had been created back in December after his last scandal where he and his now ex-girlfriend Shiloh scammed everyone into believing that she had sepsis, suddenly found it’s signature count shooting up over a thousand more than it had previously. People were outraged, and rightfully so. Yet youtube and adsense, the companies which sponsor him, haven’t batted an eyelash. They don’t seem to be responding to our protest, causing Onision to feel more invincible by the day.
This is unacceptable. It is more important now than ever before to take a stand against him and not stop until his sponsorship is revoked. He should be ashamed of his actions and he should not be profiting off of manipulating minors into following his dangerous and despicable opinions. Do not underestimate his power, this is not some rogue troll with ten followers that is easily ignored. You saw the figures in his facebook statement. He has influence over too many people, people who treat his opinions like gospel, to let his actions go unchecked.
DO NOT BE PASSIVE! DO NOT WAIT FOR SOMEONE ELSE TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!
This will not be rectified by a few people complaining. We all need to voice our opinions so that youtube and adsense cannot turn a blind eye to this. Please take a few minutes of your time to do the following:
-Sign the Petition to get his sponsorship revoked
-Report his accounts to Adsense (report both accounts OnisionSpeaks and Onision)
-Flag his offensive videos, (Here is a step by step on how to flag them) the category for each is listed in their descriptions (this is a playlist of the videos on his accounts for you to flag. Only click on these videos to flag them, if you just want to watch his videos, please use the mirrored account OnionChronicles so that you don’t give him ad revenue. Do not flag the videos on OnionChronicles, for they are to document and prove his behavior)
-Report his facebook pages, Onision and OnisionSpeaks for Other/Abusive Content > Contains Hate Speech
-Write to Vidcon, an upcoming convention which he is speaking at, and request that they revoke his invitation. We wrote and they listened! As of January 20th, he has been removed from the speakers list!!
-Contact the other speakers on their list and ask them to speak out in support of the cause.
-Upload your own reactions to his videos on youtube.
-Reblog (don’t just like, reblogging spreads the word) and repost this to other social networking sites, along with other posts from OnionChronicles, OnisionDrama, and HoldTheOnion, that show the horrible things that he’s done.
-Send this post, or your own take on the subject, along with the playlist of his offending videos (mirrored) to popular websites which discuss internet issues and support women’s rights. (Ex: Jezebel - Email, Gawker - Email, Bitchmedia - Contact, Feminist.com - Email, The Good Men Project - Email)
-Tweet about it (we need a good hashtag, send me ideas!)
-Send me a video anywhere from 10-60 seconds, saying that you want Onision’s partnership revoked (any brief comment why can be included, but keep it brief, I will edit them together for a youtube video. Please send these asap)
Please do at least one of these things. But the more you do, the better. Our voices will be heard!
EDIT Jan 20, 2012: We have made some progress. Vidcon listened, and removed him from the list of speakers and he is super pissed. We have over 2,600 signatures on the petition. Good job guys. I’d like to thank everyone who took the time to e-mail them. This is just more motivation to continue fighting the good fight. Let’s give youtube a wakeup call! Keep flagging! Keep reblogging! Keep writing to adsense! We can do it!

To Adsense:
It has come to my attention that you sponsor youtube partner Onision. I’m incredibly disheartened by this, and I don’t believe that he should be paid for the types of videos he produces.
As of late, all Onision has contributed to the community are hateful, spiteful, and bullying videos, specifically targeting his ex girlfriend, as well as a large percentage of the female population. His recent videos have been riddled with derogatory language and have encouraged the policing of other people’s bodies in the form of shaming them. He also insinuated that people with a certain number of sex partners cannot be pressured into sex which offended thousands of people and sparked dozens of response videos, including one very emotional video from a rape victim herself:

I’m disgusted by his recent videos and, despite his attempt at an apology, I do not believe he is actually sorry, or actually will change his behavior in the future. It seems to me that this is part of a cycle of his, where he makes several videos that deeply offend a percentage of his fans and viewers, he receives a backlash by those affected by his judgmental comments, he rants about them and dismisses them as “haters,” and then he finally apologises to save face and tries to cover it up by deleting the videos. Only the damage is already done, it’s far too late for an apology. His young, impressionable followers have already swallowed his opinions whole and committed to them as gospel. It is also a very cheap way to rack up views and collect ad revenue.
Sponsoring these videos is condoning his destructive behaviors. I can’t imagine that you, or the companies that advertise with you, support such opinions. Revoking his sponsorship will send the message that you do not take this lightly, and that you respect the people who are watching the ads that you attach to these videos.

This is in response to the hour or so of footage that Onision has released in the last week. I’m only making a video because he refuses to allow comments on his own videos. He claims this is because he doesn’t care what the haters think, but in actuality, he’s terrified of the backlash for the offensive things that he’s chosen to say. He can’t handle being told that he’s wrong and he refuses to educate himself on the issues that he thinks he knows everything about already.
I didn’t get to touch upon nearly as much as I would’ve liked to in this video because I’m very uncomfortable on camera. I’m much more capable of expressing my views in writing than I am in speaking publicly. It took a lot for me to consider making this video, but I have such strong feelings towards what he said, and towards the systematic oppression of women that he so casually laughs at, that I put this together. For those of you who aren’t aware of what slut shaming, victim blaming, and rape apology is, I’ve put some links below for you to research.
